THE ONE PERENNIAL RULE OF THE CAPITALIST GAME, CAPITAL MUST RULE

While well meaning, god fearing and basically honest Americans scratch their heads as the "rules of the capitalist game" change almost weekly there is one rule they can count on, "The Capitalists, Private Money Must Rule Everything and Everyone".

So, while it would be wrong, very wrong to provide a minimal annual income to American citizens it is perfectly alright to pour trillions of dollars into the pockets of already rich American investors, generally not very many of them either. But don't worry! If they remain rich and get richer you can at least count on maybe losing your job or living through a foreclosure than your wealthy beneficiaries set up for you in the first place.

Don't scratch your head so much. Go watch a football game, get drunk, fill out a tax return. It would be wrong to help a good Republican or Democrat like yourself. You are just a taxpayer, they hope, someone to forward an ever increasing component of your wages to the rich, to guarantee their rule! Finally a rule we can count on!

Capitalism is a Game that Macroeconomists Tweak

What is capitalism all about? We have heard so many representations about what capitalism is or ought to be but most of these notions revolve around the idea that capitalism is a natural phenomenon like the weather or some part of a "natural order".

Yet as we look even superficially at how capitalism has functioned since the inception of the Federal Reserve at least we see it is some sort of great game, managed at tweaked by tens of thousands of dutiful economic technicians.

This is particularly evident with the current almost depression. Obama's rescue plan for "the economy" presumes that the vast machinery of currently existing capitalism can be tweaked, bolstered, invigorated and manipulated much like an engine or other complex technology.

So it is a game we agree to play together in our hundreds of millions and billions. The owners and operators of capital and their subservient regimes have stepped in to, perhaps restart the heart of the dying system and perhaps they have been somewhat successful.

So if you want to tell me about "natural capitalism" or the "way capitalism is" you might consider that the economists and their masters are manipulating and orchestrating a vast system every hour of every day and that now, with the whole system in crisis this is more evident than ever.
